AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute

One person dies every 36 seconds from cardiovascular disease, which means most of us have a loved one who has been affected by heart disease.

The Pepin family’s lives changed when Tampa businessman Art “Pep” Pepin found out he needed a heart transplant. With little access to quality heart care in Tampa, Art and his son had to travel to receive treatment for Art’s condition.

This experience inspired them to invest in advancing heart care in Tampa Bay, so other families never have to leave home to get the care they need. For more than 30 years, the Pepin Heart Institute at AdventHealth Tampa has provided cardiac experts with the skill, commitment, and compassion to provide the finest possible heart care, for every step: from diagnosis to recovery and beyond. The Pepin Heart Institute at AdventHealth Tampa is accredited across five cardiovascular specialties, Tampa Bay’s only designated HeartCARE Center™ by the American College of Cardiology, and the first in Tampa Bay to offer:

  • WATCHMAN device to reduce stroke risk in people with atrial fibrillation (AFib)
  • Impella RP heart pump for people with right-side heart failure
  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure

When you support the Pepin Heart Institute at AdventHealth Tampa, you help push the boundaries of health care innovation, so we can heal more hearts and save more lives.

Child Life and Pediatrics

The hospital can be a scary place, especially for children. At AdventHealth Tampa we offer a less stressful environment for our pediatric patients and their families and provide access to extraordinary neonatal and pediatric care through our skilled team of physicians, surgeons, nurses and support staff.

Generous gifts enable us to fund programs, technology, equipment and new facilities that shape the future of innovative, whole-person care for our youngest patients. As we continue to advance pediatric care, these are our priorities:

Pediatric Emergency Room Renovation
Enhancements to the patient and family experience at one of the highest volume pediatric ER’s in the Tampa Bay area.

Pediatric Clinic Expansion
Expansion of dedicated space to include necessary infrastructure and equipment for our nationally recognized pediatric orthopedic surgeons.

Child Life Services
We provide psychosocial care through the purchase of art materials, toys (including video games and virtual reality devices) and additional equipment for children of all ages. Make donations through our Amazon wish list.

Maternal NICU PICU Ambulance
First of its kind ambulance that will offer leading-edge care for our youngest patients, new moms and their families.

You can also donate to our Pediatrics fund to support areas of greatest need like NICU cameras that allow parents, family and friends – near and far – to view their premature or sick babies from a phone app; car seats for parents in need so they can safely bring home their newborns from the hospital; and simulation tools that educate our pediatric care teams.

Area of Greatest Need

Our AdventHealth Tampa Foundation’s goal is simple: support programs and needs that serve Tampa patients, guests, and team members.

By partnering with us to support our areas of greatest need, you have the opportunity to move health forward by funding patient care priorities. Your donations stay within our hospital and 100% goes to the area you designate.

Thanks to generous contributions from community members, our Foundation funds programs that shape the future of innovative, whole-person care. Some of these incredible initiatives include the Taneja Center for Surgery, diabetes education programs, Digestive Health Institute research, simulation tools for pediatric care teams, and much more.

We hope you'll join us to experience how generosity heals.
