N.C., AdventHealth Hendersonville Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer

Mar. 21, 2023; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Steven Burroughs as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for AdventHealth Hendersonville. Burroughs brings his extensive experience in health care finance and operations to his new role at AdventHealth Hendersonville.

Burroughs earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. He went on to serve in health care finance and operations, with six years of leadership and experience as CFO of a 204-bed facility in Florida and 3 years of experience as a VP of Finance over five hospitals. Most recently, Burroughs has been VP of Finance for Mission Hospital System. He oversaw the financial aspects of four of Mission’s critical access hospitals and its 30-bed acute care hospital.

Burroughs was drawn to AdventHealth Hendersonville because of their “God first” mentality, and their family atmosphere. AdventHealth’s commitment to whole-person care aligns with his personal mission of serving God through hospital ministries. “Growing up I always wanted to be a nurse or doctor,” Burroughs shares, “As I got older I realized that God was calling me in to finance. I still wanted to be part of hospital ministries.”

Burroughs’ approach to leading in health care finance is one of the skills that made him standout to AdventHealth Hendersonville President and Chief Executive Officer, Brandon Nudd, “Steve values input from the subject matter experts to learn specifics of the various areas of the organization. He understands the importance of connecting with the team to achieve the aspirations driving us in our commitment to whole-person care.”

Burroughs is excited to join in AdventHealth’s mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ through whole-person care. And through his leadership, he is dedicated to caring for his team and those around him. “No matter what is happening, I will always be there to help,” Burroughs says, “Whether it is at home or at work.”

Burroughs and his wife have four daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports, and playing golf. What makes him feel whole is his relationship with God, and family time.
