AdventHealth is investing more than $80 million in infrastructure and patient-care services at its Orlando campus with an expansion that will include new cardiovascular services, an upgraded emergency room and parking facilities.

The Cardiovascular Institute will expand to include the Center for Living, which will offer a comprehensive program to identify, prevent and treat cardiovascular disease — the leading cause of death in the nation.

Funded by a $3 million donation from The Ginsburg Family Foundation, the 13,200-square-foot center will feature a genomics clinic focused on cardiovascular diseases and a cardio pulmonary rehabilitation unit. The center will connect to the east side of the Ginsburg Tower adjacent to Lake Estelle and will open in spring 2021.

“We are dedicated to offering cutting-edge treatments, so we are excited to be adding genomics to our cardiovascular program,” said AdventHealth Orlando CEO Brett Spenst. “These expansion projects illustrate our commitment to providing world-class care in a convenient, accessible setting.”

An expanded emergency department will be included in the three-floor addition. The emergency room, which will be roughly 54,000 square feet when complete, will include several rooms for specialized care and an expanded waiting room.

Additionally, the parking garage at McRae Avenue and East Rollins Street will expand by almost 1,400 parking spaces, more than doubling its current capacity. The project is estimated to be completed in early 2020.
