U.S. News & World Report recently released its Best Hospitals for 2020-21, and a number of AdventHealth facilities were among those recognized. The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 31st year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.
Among the top performers, Porter Adventist Hospital ranked second in Colorado, AdventHealth Orlando ranked third in Florida and AdventHealth Shawnee Mission logged a ranking of third in the state of Kansas. Other AdventHealth hospitals to earn state rankings were AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale, AdventHealth Daytona Beach, AdventHealth Waterman, AdventHealth Heart of Florida and AdventHealth Tampa.
Numerous AdventHealth hospitals also received recognition for specialty care and high performance with specific procedures and conditions, including AdventHealth for Children, which ranked first in Florida for neonatology for a second consecutive year.
The U.S. News Best Hospitals methodologies in most areas of care are based largely on objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and discharge-to-home rates, volume and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.
Best Hospitals was produced by U.S. News with RTI International, a leading research organization based in Research Triangle Park, N.C.
