AdventHealth University Celebrates 30 Years of Moving Health Care Education Forward

AdventHealth University had its beginning more than a century ago as the Florida Hospital School of Nursing. It was not until 1992, however, that the handful of early programs offered were combined to form a new school, Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. Today, AdventHealth University continues to build on its rich educational heritage as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.

“I just think that we will continue to grow and change and that’s what it’s all about is helping to grow the students so they can care for our patients,” says Charlotte Henningsen, an AHU pioneer, adjunct ultrasound professor and former chair of the sonography department. “That’s why we’re here is to take care of God’s children.”
