DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., November 19, 2018 – For the last few weeks, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center employees have collected canned goods and non-perishable items as part of the hospital’s annual food drive. These donated items will benefit the Food Brings Hope and Halifax Urban Ministries.

“Our mission at Florida Hospital is to extend the healing ministry of Christ, which goes beyond our hospital walls,” said Farzad Nourian, Florida Hospital regional director of mission and ministry. “We are very proud of our employees for generously giving and helping feed hungry school children and families in our community.”

This year’s food drive brought in more than 1,400 pounds of food to share with both organizations.

“Both organizations we collected food for provide so much for the homeless and low-income families our community,” Nourian said. “We are grateful for this opportunity to help fulfill part of the missions of both Food Brings Hope and Halifax Urban Ministries.”

About Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center

Florida Hospital’s parent company, Adventist Health System, has announced that it will soon change its name to AdventHealth. Based in Altamonte Springs, Adventist Health System is one of the nation’s largest faith-based health care systems with nearly 50 hospital campuses and more than 80,000 employees. As of Jan. 2, 2019, all of Adventist Health System’s wholly owned hospitals and care sites across its footprint in nine states will adopt the AdventHealth name and logo. This name change is not the result of a merger, acquisition or change in ownership, but part of our efforts to help consumers easily identify AdventHealth’s care locations and services. We remain steadfastly committed to delivering whole-person care for the mind, body and spirit and our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ remains the same.

Located in Daytona Beach, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has 327-beds and is one of the six Florida Hospitals in Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties that composes the Florida Hospital Central Florida Division - North Region.
