Jason Dunkel Named President/CEO for Florida Hospital North Pinellas

Adventist Health System has named Jason Dunkel to the position of president/CEO for Florida Hospital North Pinellas. Dunkel will assume leadership responsibilities for the 168-bed hospital immediately, and report to Bruce Bergherm, senior executive officer of acute care services for Adventist Health System's West Florida Division.

'Jason is a leader with a proven track record of fostering growth and operational success. His contributions and leadership have helped elevate Florida Hospital North Pinellas and advance our mission in the community, and I am confident that the hospital will prosper under his guidance,' said Terry Shaw, president/CEO for Adventist Health System.

Dunkel previously served as vice president of operations and business development for Florida Hospital North Pinellas, overseeing the hospital's growth activities and initiatives, as well as daily operations for cardiology, imaging, pharmacy and laboratory services. He also provided leadership and oversight of Florida Hospital North Pinellas' expansion into Palm Harbor, Florida, with the construction and opening of a 24-bed freestanding emergency room.

Prior to joining Florida Hospital North Pinellas, he served in various health care operations and strategic development roles at Adventist Health System hospitals, including director of business development at Littleton Adventist Hospital, and executive director of business development and marketing at Jellico Community Hospital.

Dunkel earned a master's degree in business administration from Southern Adventist University and a master's degree in divinity from Andrews University. He also earned a bachelor's degree in theology from Southern Adventist University. He and his wife, Katelyn, have been married for 12 years and have four daughters, Sophia (10), Arabella (7), Katherine (6) and Alaithea (1). In his free time, he enjoys sports and singing. He also serves as a head elder at New Port Richey Seventh-day Adventist Church.
