Michael Cacciatore, MD, has been named chief clinical officer for AdventHealth, effective March 4. In this role, he will work to move the system’s clinical agenda forward through improved clinical outcomes, evidence and consensus-based medicine and innovation. He will report to Randy Haffner, group CEO of AdventHealth Florida.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with Dr. Cacciatore for many years. He is a leader who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to our mission and ensuring those in his care feel whole,” said Haffner. “Dr. Cacciatore is a relational leader, one who understands how to bring leaders, providers and care teams together and rally them around a common goal. I know his bias for collaboration will serve him well as he works with leaders to move our Vision 2030 clinical excellence strategies forward.”
Most recently, Dr. Cacciatore served as chief clinical officer for AdventHealth’s West Florida Division where he oversaw the division’s clinical agenda and advanced strategies that helped to improve clinical outcomes. Before that, Dr. Cacciatore served as chief medical officer for AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) in Central Florida where he enhanced team culture and positioned physicians as leaders in the governance structure. Under his leadership, Dr. Cacciatore helped create the first AHMG Wellness Committee and appointed the first-ever chief wellness officer. Dr. Cacciatore also served as medical director of the AdventHealth Obstetrics Hospitalists team in Central Florida and was a clinical faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the AdventHealth Family Practice Residency Program.
“As a physician, I’m proud to work for an organization that is committed to clinical excellence and I’m honored this opportunity allows me to continue to serve our patients,” said Dr. Cacciatore. “I look forward to building on the incredible foundation that’s been built and collaborating with leaders and care teams throughout the organization to elevate our standards of care and extend our mission to the communities we serve.”
Dr. Cacciatore is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and his medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine where he also completed his medical residency.
Dr. Cacciatore and his wife, Bronna, enjoy the company of their two adult children, Miranda and Cody, as well as Maggie, their dog. When he’s not spending time with his family, Dr. Cacciatore enjoys woodworking and staying active through running, bicycling and rowing.
