Rob Roy Named Senior Vice President of Investments for AdventHealth

Rob Roy has been named senior vice president of investments for AdventHealth. Roy, who has 30 years of institutional investment experience, also serves as AdventHealth’s chief investment officer, overseeing investments for the organization, which include the core investment and employee retirement portfolios totaling approximately $14 billion.

“Rob is a forward-thinker and life-long learner who has been instrumental in the development of our present-day investment philosophy. His leadership of our investment strategy and team is critical to sustaining the strength of our portfolio and ensuring that our process continuously aligns with our mission and values,” said Paul Rathbun, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer for AdventHealth.

Roy has spent more than 15 years with AdventHealth. He previously served as its vice president of investments, and prior to that, as director of cash and investments. His experience also includes serving as chief investment officer for Cain Brothers Asset Management, bond trader for Putnam Investments, fixed income specialist on the floors of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and portfolio risk manager for Ferrell Capital.

In 2019 and 2018, Roy was named one of the Top 30 Health Care Chief Investment Officers by Trusted Insight. And in 2016, he accepted Institutional Investor’s Mission and Thought Leadership Award on behalf of AdventHealth.

Roy chairs the AdventHealth Employee Plan Investment Committee and serves on the finance and investment committee of the Adventist Health Care Retirement Plan. In addition, he chairs the Ardmore Institute of Health’s finance and investment committee.

Roy earned a master’s degree in financial markets and trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and bachelor’s degrees in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Suffolk University and applied mathematics from Southern New Hampshire University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in finance from the University of London’s Cass Business School.

He and his wife, Dawn, have two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach and sailing.
