ORMOND BEACH, FLA., November 21, 2018 — Thanks to a generous donation from Florida Hospital HospiceCare and the Wells-Fargo Foundation, all veterans will have free access to art education programs and experiences at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens in Ormond Beach.
The local hospice organization and financial institution will fund a scholarship open to any veteran throughout 2019.
“We are honored to support both our local arts programs and veterans in our community,” said Rema Cole, administrative director for Florida Hospital HospiceCare. “Enjoying art and developing creative outlets can provide a venue to transform lives and offer veterans in our community an opportunity to improve attention spans, memory and social skills.”
To apply, veterans must show either Military ID Card, V.A. Health Care Card, DD 214 or Driver's License with Veteran Designation.
About Florida Hospital HospiceCare
Florida Hospital’s parent company, Adventist Health System, has announced that it will soon change its name to AdventHealth. Based in Altamonte Springs, Adventist Health System is one of the nation’s largest faith-based health care systems with nearly 50 hospital campuses in nine states and more than 80,000 employees. As of Jan. 2, 2019, the Florida Hospitals in Lake, Flagler, and Volusia counties will adopt the AdventHealth name and logo. This name change is not the result of a merger, acquisition or change in ownership, but part of our efforts to help consumers easily identify AdventHealth’s care locations and services. We remain steadfastly committed to delivering whole-person care for the mind, body and spirit and our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ remains the same.
Florida Hospital HospiceCare is the area’s only faith-based, not-for-profit hospice organization accredited by The Joint Commission. Since 1996, Florida Hospital HospiceCare has provided life-affirming care to the residents of Volusia and Flagler counties facing life-limiting illnesses and injuries. With an interdisciplinary team of hospice-trained specialists, Florida Hospital HospiceCare provides services to patients, either in their own home, or in one of the Florida Hospital HospiceCare inpatients units designed for acute care.
