AdventHealth Central Florida Division COVID-19 update: Sept. 30, 2021

ORLANDO, Fla., September 30, 2021 — AdventHealth’s COVID-19 patient census continued to drop this week to about 530 patients hospitalized across our hospitals in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Lake, Volusia and Flagler counties.

AdventHealth continues to operate under “Green Status” or normal operations.

In addition, the rate of positive COVID tests at Centra Care, AdventHealth’s urgent care clinics, dipped below 10% this week for the first time since the spring – prior to the Delta variant taking hold in Central Florida. The positivity rate for Centra Care’s Central Florida clinics dropped to about 9% this week.

“We are encouraged by what we are seeing throughout Florida and in Central Florida,” said Dr. Tim Hendrix, senior medical director for AdventHealth Centra Care. “But we continue to watch the rate of positive COVID tests closely, particularly among children, who account for one out of every five positive tests right now.”
