ORLANDO, Fla.— In order to connect with the Spanish-speaking community and provide access to crucial health care information, AdventHealth Central Florida Division has launched social media pages in Spanish.
“Health care information can often be complicated, and important nuances can be lost when trying to translate from one language to another,” said Dr. Victor Herrera, chief clinical officer for the AdventHealth Central Florida Division - South Region. “With so many changes happening in health care right now, it is imperative that we make sure that information is both easily accessible and easy to understand for our local community.”
More than five million Hispanics live in Florida, representing 26.8% of the state's population. AdventHealth recognizes the importance of reaching out to Spanish-speakers, and aims to bridge the language gap by providing accurate, reliable and culturally competent information.
Content will be tailored to meet the needs and preferences of the Spanish-speaking community. AdventHealth is launching this effort on Facebook and Instagram.
