AdventHealth Transplant Institute (AHTI) – the only transplant center in Central Florida – has been recognized as one of the top five heart transplant programs by volume in the nation, and the top in the state, according to the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients . The criteria is based off of the number of transplant recipients in a one-year period.

Since its inception in 1973, AHTI has successfully performed more heart transplants than any other transplant center in the southeast. The median heart transplant wait time for the program is about two months, which is less than half the national average.

Additionally, AHTI has performed more than 4,000 transplants overall, making it one of the busiest transplant centers in the U.S., with survival rates among the top in the country. The Institute offers a wide range of transplant options including heart, kidney, liver, bone marrow and pancreas, as well as a comprehensive living donor program.
