Fla., — ORLANDO, Fla., April 20, 2020 — AdventHealth’s Collaborative Community Council has extended the deadline on community grant applications from nonprofits that are launching innovative new programs that will improve the health of Central Florida. The extension was granted to give more time to the organizations impacted by COVID-19.
This year, the Collaborative Community Council will provide $1.2 million in grants for programs that address issues such as care coordination, mental and behavioral health, food security, and community development as identified through the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment.
“AdventHealth’s mission isn’t constrained by our hospital walls, and we know that in order to improve the health of our community, we need to form new partnerships to help our neighbors feel whole,” said Samantha Kearns O’Lenick, executive director of AdventHealth Community Impact. “We hope nonprofits in Central Florida will take advantage of this opportunity to help serve those in greatest need.”
Prior grant recipients include Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, the Osceola Council on Aging, Grace Medical Home and Aspire Health Partners, among others.
Funding is available for one to three years with a strong emphasis on clearly defined metrics that show success and impact on the community.
AdventHealth’s Collaborative Community Council, made of hospital team members and community leaders, seeks to identify and partner with community organizations to create effective, impactful solutions that can improve community health and reduce preventable medical costs.
Since 2005, the Collaborative Community Council, formerly known as the Community Health Impact Council, has invested more than $14 million in 55 programs across the tri-county area and impacted more than 145,000 people.
The deadline to apply for a grant has been extended to 11:59 pm on May 31, and program funding will be available Jan. 1, 2021.
