Fla., Orlando, Fla., May 1, 2018 – Singing, performing, editing and production were some of the skills local middle schoolers showed during Healthy Central Florida’s third annual video contest to promote pedestrian and bike safety.

Nearly 30 videos were submitted and judged by local video-production professionals based on originality, creativity and the artistic vision to portray this year’s contest theme: “Walking and biking to school is call when you do it safely.”

“Throughout the years I’ve seen very impressive videos that show the students’ commitment to making high-end videos with the resources available to them,” said Kyle Massey, contest judge and owner of Massey Tone Productions.

A team of three students from Maitland Middle School took home the first place with an attention-grabbing video that left the judges impressed because of the universality of its message.

“The safety measures were communicated clearly without using any words,” said Massey. “The video also had a great comedy element that we knew would make it resonate with kids from that age group.”
