Lisa Bowman will serve as chief nursing officer at AdventHealth Waterman providing oversight for all nursing operations at the hospital effective Oct. 8.
Bowman, a registered nurse and board-certified nursing executive, brings extensive experience in caring for adult and pediatric patients from her more than two decades with AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth for Women in Orlando, Florida.
During her tenure in her most recent role as chief nursing officer and vice president of operations, AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth for Women earned many national clinical accolades, including Magnet® recognition three times from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Leapfrog’s Top Children's Hospital, and the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Women's Care for Gynecology. She also led the AdventHealth for Children team in launching the only pediatric bone marrow transplant program in Central Florida, a Level IV epilepsy center, and a pediatric open-heart program recognized as an ELSO center of excellence.
“We are fortunate to have a leader of Lisa’s caliber join our hospital,” said Abel Biri, president and CEO for AdventHealth Waterman and the North Lake and South Sumter Market. “Lisa’s dedication and commitment to drive performance, coupled with her experience and expertise are certain to fuel the passion of our nurses as we continue to focus on growing our services and delivering whole-person care.”
Bowman joins AdventHealth Waterman as the hospital is experiencing an exciting period of growth. From the recent announcement of a new free-standing emergency department that will serve Fruitland Park, The Villages, Lady Lake and surrounding areas, to the one-year anniversary of a partnership with Lake Sumter State College that is training new nurses, AdventHealth Waterman is well positioned serve the communities’ needs today, and well into the future.
“I absolutely love the communities and people who call North Lake and South Sumter counties home,” said Bowman. “My family has may ties to the area and I could not be more thrilled to have this opportunity to care for what I consider ‘my community,’ working alongside the talented and passionate team of care givers at AdventHealth Waterman.”
