Fla., — ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 13, 2019) -- This afternoon, we were pleased to host an extraordinary patient reunion.
In 2015, Irene and Peter Ferguson were visiting Central Florida from England when she developed a terrible headache and lost consciousness in her hotel room. She was airlifted to AdventHealth Orlando, where she was treated for life-threatening bleeding into the space surrounding her brain. She spent more than three weeks at the hospital, and has since made a miraculous recovery. While her memories of her time here were foggy, she and her husband were grateful for her lifesaving care.
Four years later, the couple is visiting Orlando again for vacation, and today made a special trip to the hospital to thank Irene’s care team, including nurse Greg Prince, whom she only remembered as “Mr. Alabama.” She had a tearful reunion with several team members, and toured the unit where the couple spent 23 days.
