Seminole County Public Schools unveils redesigned Mechanics Physics Bus to inspire future STEM leaders
Altamonte Springs, FL – Seminole County Public Schools and the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools in partnership with AdventHealth unveiled the newly redesigned Mechanics Physics Bus, marking another milestone in its innovative Physics Bus Initiative. Launched in January 2020, this program brings interactive STEM experiences directly to 4th and 5th-grade students across the district, helping them build critical math and science skills.
The Mechanics Physics Bus, presented by AdventHealth, is one of three buses in the initiative, each focusing on a different area of physics: Mechanics, Optics, and Electricity. Together, these mobile classrooms offer hands-on learning opportunities designed to spark curiosity and interest in STEM fields among young students.
AdventHealth’s sponsorship underscores its dedication to education and workforce development.
“AdventHealth is proud to expand our partnership with Seminole County Public Schools and the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools to inspire and prepare students to pursue careers in STEM,” said Nicole Crocker, vice president and chief nursing officer at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary and Oviedo. “We are investing today for the workforce of tomorrow. We’re hopeful our efforts will encourage future physicians, nurses, clinicians, and health care leaders to pursue a mission-filled career in health care.”
The Mechanics Physics Bus will provide students with engaging, hands-on activities to deepen their understanding of complex scientific principles. AdventHealth’s continued support ensures that this vital educational tool will inspire future generations while fostering a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the community.
“By partnering with Seminole County Public Schools and the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is demonstrating what makes our community worthy of the accolades received,” said Serita D. Beamon, superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools. “Our shared commitment to ensuring our students have highly engaging, relevant and unique learning experiences ensures we will remain the exceptional school district and community we are.”
