First Baby Born at Newly Opened AdventHealth Riverview on Opening Day

Baby Melanie was born at 3:12 PM on Wednesday, October 23, making her the first baby of AdventHealth Riverview.

RIVERVIEW, Fla. – AdventHealth Riverview officially opened its doors Wednesday and welcomed its first baby just hours after opening.

Baby Melanie, the youngest of four sisters, was born to Gabrielle Jimenez of South Hillsborough County. Melanie was born at 3:12 PM on Wednesday, October 23, measuring 19 3/4 inches long and 6 lbs. 7 oz.

Melanie’s arrival marks a special moment in the hospital’s history as she was born on the first day of operations.

“It was a good experience with amazing nurses who were super helpful,” Jimenez said. “The unit was quiet, which helped with our experience.”

AdventHealth Riverview features a secure mother and baby unit equipped with eight labor and delivery rooms and two dedicated c-section rooms.

The hospital is part of AdventHealth’s expansion to meet the health care needs of South Hillsborough County, offering a range of services including cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and emergency care. The hospital opened with 82 beds and has plans to grow to 202 beds in the near future.
