Our Neurology Services
-
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy helps people increase their mobility and independence through various movements, exercises or electrotherapy.
-
Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty
Similar to vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty may be used on patients with compression fractures in the spine. Kyphoplasty offers the potential to restore bone height in the vertebra and reverse deformity of the spine. We offer both treatments, allowing specialists to choose the most appropriate treatment for each patient.
-
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery that requires only a small incision in the abdomen. Through this incision, surgeons insert a small tube with a light and camera lens on the end.
-
Pain Management
Pain management is a medical specialty that stems from the need to treat all types of pain, including musculoskeletal, spinal and neuropathic pain disorders.
-
Spinal Cord Stimulation
This technology is typically reserved for patients who haven’t found relief from other conservative treatments, including injection-based therapies. In spinal cord stimulation, electrical leads are inserted into the epidural space via a needle under live imaging. Through these leads, small electrical currents are applied to the areas of the spinal cord involved in pain.
-
Total Disc Replacement
Total disc replacement is a reversible alternative that avoids many drawbacks of spinal fusion while preserving motion, restoring height and keeping the stress along the spine in balance.
-
Epidural Steroid Injection
An epidural steroid injection delivers steroids directly into the epidural space in the spine. These steroids function as a potent anti-inflammatory medication, and using live X-ray imaging, the injection deposits this medication very close to the site of the pain.
Spinal Surgeries We Offer
- Discectomy
-
The surgical removal of the whole or a part of an intervertebral disc.
- Laminectomy
-
Laminectomy, also called decompression, is surgery to remove the lamina, which is the back part of the vertebra that covers your spinal canal. Laminectomy enlarges your spinal canal, relieving pressure on the spinal cord or nerves caused by narrowing of the spine (spinal stenosis).
- Spinal Fusion
-
Spinal fusion is an open surgical procedure that usually involves incisions into the back to fuse vertebrae.
- Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF)
-
TLIF is a type of spinal surgery in which a surgeon makes small incisions in the lower back to access lumbar vertebrae that need to be fused.
- Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF)
-
ALIF is a spine surgery that involves approaching the spine from the front (anterior) of the body to remove all or part of a herniated disc from in between two adjacent vertebrae (interbody) in the lower back (lumbar spine), then joining together the vertebrae on either side of the remaining disc space using a bone graft or bone graft substitute.
- Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion (XLIF)
-
XLIF is a minimally invasive procedure performed through the side of the body to treat spinal disorders and reduce long-term back or leg pain that has not improved through other treatments, such as steroid injections, physical therapy and pain medication.
