Leading the way with the ROSA® Knee System
Our highly-skilled team of knee surgeons and orthopedic care teams use leading-edge technology to ensure you have a smooth recovery. Our surgeons are equipped with the latest robotic systems, including the ROSA® Knee System, to help you feel better faster. This means you will be able to return home sooner, have less scarring and heal faster, as compared to traditional joint replacement surgery.
Some benefits of ROSA® robotic technology for knee surgery include:
· Greater precision during surgery, only removing the damaged or arthritic portions of your knee.
· Preservation of the healthy parts of your joint, tissue and bone, so your knee feels more natural after surgery.
· A faster recovery and a shorter hospital stay compared to traditional total knee replacement surgery
Regain Mobility with Revision Knee Placement
For many people who have had a total knee replacement, their implant lasts for life. But for younger or very active knee replacement patients, their prosthesis may eventually fail due to injury, infection or normal wear and tear as they become older.
Our orthopedic surgeons are also experts in revision knee replacement. Using the latest techniques and state-of-the-art technologies, they remove some or all of the parts of the original implant and replace them with new ones.
If you have had a total knee replacement and you have pain and swelling, or your knee feels stiff or unstable, a revision knee replacement could help you move confidently back towards the life you love. Some of the many benefits of revision knee replacement surgery include improved function, range of motion, stability and pain relief. Reach out to our team to see how we can help you feel like yourself again and get back to the things that delight you the most in life.

- Care That Lifts Pain Off Your Shoulders
-
From perfecting your golf swing to brushing your teeth, your shoulders do a lot. When severe shoulder pain is keeping you from doing the things you love, you may need more than a heating pad or ice pack. The shoulder experts at AdventHealth Carrollwood combine the latest treatments options with personalized care to help you take back your life in full swing.
Shoulder Care you Can Lean On
Your shoulder is considered one of the most mobile parts of the body. Over time, the muscles, tendons and bones that make up your joints can become worn down and irritated from constant use. We want you to be able to stretch, lift and reach with freedom. Our compassionate shoulder experts set the standard for orthopedic care and help you get back to the active and fulfilling lifestyle you strive for.
Common shoulder conditions that we care for include:
- Collar bone fractures
- Osteoarthritis
- Rotator cuff injuries
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Shoulder arthritis
- Bursitis
- Tendonitis
Advanced Treatment Options from Our Shoulder Experts
Some shoulder conditions can be cared for with medications or physical therapy. But when surgery is the best option for you, our shoulder surgeons are here to help you with compassionate expertise. We often use minimally invasive procedures to help heal your shoulder and restore your movement, including advanced surgical techniques that improve outcomes and help you return to your daily routine faster.
We offer a subscapularis-sparing approach to shoulder surgery that conserves the subscapularis tendon and spares the rotator cuff. Not only does this innovative approach reduce pain and scarring, it also reduces your time in a sling post-op from weeks to days. With traditional total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA), the subscapularis tendon is released and then reattached during the procedure, which can have long-term effects on the tendon. Our experienced orthopedic team can put you on the path of living pain free.
Our range of shoulder procedures includes:
- Shoulder revisions
- Rotator cuff repair
- Reverse shoulder replacement
- Partial shoulder resurfacing
- Total shoulder replacement
- Arthroscopic surgery
Our Biggest Accomplishment is Caring for You
With our Joint Commission certified Shoulder Replacement Program, we want to lift the burden of pain off your shoulders, ease your mind and lift your spirits with shoulder care that will help you feel whole.

- Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Program
-
AdventHealth Carrollwood is participating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) program. The program is a new payment model being tested for episodes of care related to total knee and total hip replacements under Medicare, with the goal of supporting better and more efficient care coordination for patients undergoing the most common inpatient surgeries.
The Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model continues to pay providers under existing payment systems, but holds hospitals responsible for the quality and costs from the initial procedure through 90 days after the patient is discharged. Through the CJR program, CMS expects improved coordination of care among hospitals, physicians and post-acute care providers – from surgery to recovery –to benefit patients and result in better outcomes and fewer complications.
- An Exciting New Payment Possibility
-
We want to help make excellent orthopedic care affordable and realistic for you. That’s why AdventHealth Carrollwood takes part in a special payment program for some orthopedic surgeries. Funded by Medicare and Medicaid, the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) program helps finance specific total knee and total hip replacement surgeries, the most-common in-patient joint surgeries today. Talk to your doctor to find out if you qualify.
