New Chief Financial Officers Named

VOLUSIA and FLAGLER COUNTIES, Fla., February 16, 2016 Since 2012, Debbie Thomas has served in a dual role as chief financial officer for Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, as well as chief financial officer for East Florida Region, which encompasses the five Florida Hospitals within Volusia and Flagler counties. As of Jan. 24, Thomas has transitioned her role and now focuses solely on providing financial oversight for the Florida Hospital East Florida Region.

This change will allow all of our local hospitals to reap the benefits of her leadership and guidance, as she will be able to devote all of her time to strategic oversight of the financial objectives for our growing region, said Rob Fulbright, chief executive officer for the Florida Hospital East Florida Region.

Thomas joined Adventist Health System in 1996 and has 20 years of experience in hospital financial management. During her tenure, she has served as chief financial officer at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida Hospital DeLand in DeLand and Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

She earned a bachelors and masters degree in accounting from the University of Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional.

In light of Thomas transition, Jermaine Bucknor, chief financial officer for Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast, has become the chief financial officer for Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. In this role, Bucknor oversees the overall financial operations of the hospital and will partner with the executive team to strengthen the financial and operational goals of the organization.

Bucknor has more than 14 years of financial experience and has been at Florida Hospital Flagler for two years. He is also a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), a non-profit membership organization for healthcare financial management executives. He received his Master in Business Administration from La Sierra University in Riverside, Calif. and Bachelor of Science in accounting from Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville, Jamaica.

Cory Domayer, vice president of financial operations at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, will become chief financial officer for Florida Hospital Flagler.

Domayer joined Adventist Health System in 2010 and has 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Central Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant.
