AdventHealth Gordon recently surpassed 1,000 consecutive days without a single central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI).
CLABSIs are serious health care-associated infections that occur in up to 500,000 patients annually in the United States and have a mortality rate of up to 30%. These infections can be avoided with rigorous adherence to best practices in insertion, care and maintenance of central lines.
"I am incredibly proud of our team for reaching this significant milestone," said Karen Bell, chief nursing officer of AdventHealth Gordon. "This accomplishment exemplifies our dedication to patient safety and the standards of care we strive to maintain every day."
This achievement demonstrates AdventHealth Gordon’s promise to patient safety and whole-person care by Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.
