N.C., AdventHealth Expands Access to Cancer Care with the Addition of New Hematologist and Medical Oncologist

Oct. 4, 2022; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Christine Moore, DO to its team at AdventHealth Hematology Oncology Infusion Services Asheville. Dr. Moore is board-certified in internal medicine and fellowship trained in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Her commitment to care includes going above and beyond to provide exceptional patient experience.

Dr. Moore earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH and her Doctor of Osteopathy from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency program from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. And then later, her Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship from UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center in San Antonio, TX.

From a young age, Dr. Moore was intrigued with the medical advances found in the health care field. That’s what drew her to start a career in health care. She shares, “I decided on Internal Medicine in order to pursue more training in Hematology and Medical Oncology because I found taking care of patients with blood disorders and cancer to be very rewarding and humbling. There is so much to learn and information changes rapidly!”

One of the aspects that Dr. Moore enjoys most about her job is patient care. She is passionate about caring for her patients. “I try to treat all patients with kindness, respect, and compassion,” Dr. Moore says, “I do my best to be thorough in my care for them.”

“Dr. Moore understands the trust her patients are putting in her when they choose her and AdventHealth for their cancer or blood disorder care,” explains Christy Sneller, MBA, Vice President of Physician Services and Chief Practice Officer for AdventHealth Hendersonville. “That understanding shows through her dedication to constantly tracking the advances in research and treatments, and her commitment to meet the needs of her patients with uncommon compassion.”

Dr. Moore was drawn to the opportunity to be part of the AdventHealth team and to serve the Western North Carolina community. “I am excited to be part of the tight-knit AdventHealth community,” Dr. Moore shares, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to care for patients in my role as physician, and I try to learn and grow from every encounter.”

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Moore loves being outdoors in the mountains. Some of her hobbies include running, cycling, hiking, and practicing mindfulness. She’s excited to explore the area and looking forward to getting involved in the local community.
