N.C., June 01, 2021 — AdventHealth Hendersonville Announces Inaugural Winner of the Sunshine Award

Jun. 1, 2021; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth Hendersonville is excited to introduce you to the newest recipient of its Sunshine Award. Danny Sherrill, RCP, RRT is part of the AdventHealth Hendersonville Respiratory Services team.

Danny earned this award because of his dedication to providing not only respiratory care to our patients, but to ensuring their safety throughout their time in our care.

His nomination came from AdventHealth Hendersonville ER Nurse, Chelsea Fowler, RN.

Chelsea wanted to thank Danny for going beyond his respiratory therapy duties to ensure the safety of a patient who was experiencing a severe coughing episode. Danny immediately eased the patient to a safe position and stayed at her side as her coughing subsided. He then assisted her back to a safe position for him to run the test he had been called in to complete. Before leaving he made sure the patient was safe and comfortable on the stretcher. “I was so unbelievably grateful to have him there to assist with this patient,” adds Chelsea.

AdventHealth Nursing Leadership created the Sunshine Award to recognize ancillary team members who strive for excellence in their profession, consistently deliver exceptional care, uphold the highest standards and collaborate with the AdventHealth nursing teams to enhance the experience of our patients, family members and guests while Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.
