N.C., AdventHealth Hendersonville DAISY Award Winner Brings

Joy and Laughter to Hospital Patients

Sep. 21, 2022; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth Hendersonville is excited to introduce you to our newest DAISY Award winner. Alyssa Corn, BSN, RN works in the Medical/Surgical Department at AdventHealth Hendersonville.

Alyssa goes above and beyond to provide her patients with whole-person care. A recent patient of Alyssa’s nominated her for the DAISY Award because he was very impressed with the compassionate care he received from Alyssa. He had come to AdventHealth Hendersonville for a blood transfusion, and he was moved to the Medical/Surgical floor where Alyssa became his nurse. In his nomination he shares, Alyssa was very knowledgeable and professional. She explained everything she was doing and answered any questions he or his wife had. She even made him smile and laugh with her sense of humor.

In the nomination, he went on to say he will always remember the joy and peace Alyssa brought him throughout his hospital visit. He adds, “I’m sure you have a whole lot of good people that work here, but by far Alyssa Corn is the “bomb diggity”. Thank you Alyssa Corn for being the “bomb diggity” nurse that I will never forget.”

AdventHealth Hendersonville is honored to recognize Alyssa as the newest DAISY Award winner.

The DAISY Award was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes in 1999 to thank the nurses who cared for Patrick and for them as he battled an autoimmune disease. Patrick lost his battle, but his family realized the impact his nurses had on the final days of his life. For that, they wanted to create an opportunity for all families who experience the benefits of the extraordinary care of nurses to show their appreciation.
