N.C., AdventHealth Hendersonville Welcomes New Provider to Expand

Mental Health Care in Community

Jan. 12, 2022; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Amanda Bentley, PMHNP to her new role in the AdventHealth Hendersonville Behavioral Health Unit. Bentley will be providing care for the inpatient and partial outpatient programs offered at AdventHealth Hendersonville. Most recently, she has served as a Behavioral Health Nurse Navigator in the Emergency Department.

Bentley has extensive experience in serving as a registered nurse in the behavioral health care field. She has worked with minors and those suffering with substance abuse issues. She went on to earn her master’s degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner concentration at Walden University in Minneapolis, MN.

“I had been working at AdventHealth since March of 2020,” Bentley shares, “Due to my experience in my role as an RN, I wanted to continue working with AdventHealth as I advanced in my career as a Nurse Practitioner. I feel like I am with a family of like-minded individuals who have the best intentions and desires to improve the health of our community.”

Bentley has a passion for caring for those with behavioral health and addiction issues. She strives to provide compassionate, whole-person care to her patients with every interaction. “I encourage my patients to share their concerns, questions, and thoughts,” Bentley says, “Each patient/provider interaction is an opportunity for collaborative communication towards the goal of health improvement.”

“Amanda has been focused on meeting the mental health needs of our community from the moment she joined our team. With the completion of her PMHNP, she is taking this commitment to the next level on our Behavioral Health team. We are excited to see the impact of Amanda’s focus on whole-person care on the lives of our behavioral health patients and their families.” shared Christy Sneller, MBA, AdventHealth Hendersonville Vice-President of Physician Services and Chief Practice Officer.

When Bentley is not providing whole-person care to her patients, she is home caring for her wide variety of animals. This diverse group includes dogs, cats, chickens, a turtle, and a hedgehog!
