N.C., July 19, 2022 — AdventHealth Medical Group Welcomes New Nurse Practitioner to Family Medicine Care Team at Forge Mountain

July 19, 2022; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Laura Long, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, to its team at AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Forge Mountain. Long provides patients with compassionate, quality care in a welcoming environment. She will be assisting Robert L. Smith, MD in providing whole-person care to our community.

Since 2007, Long has served as a registered nurse in multiple units, such as the Telemetry Unit, and the Pulmonary Medical Surgical and Stepdown Units. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Boise State University in Boise, ID and went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Nursing from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN.

Long has extensive experience in care management and enjoys the process of working together with the patients and families on creating the most positive outcomes on their health journeys. “I work diligently on collaboration, communication and education,” Long explains, “This is an exceptionally important concept for patients and their loved ones, to know that they are in charge, and I am their guide in this journey.”

AdventHealth’s commitment to whole-person care resonated with Long. She has a passion for providing whole-person care - mind, body and spirit, to all of her patients and the community. “I am naturally empathetic and a caregiver by nature, so health care was kind of a no-brainer for me,” Long shares, “The time I spend talking with my patients is an invaluable tool to develop a partnership with them. It also promotes a feeling of being heard and cared for.”

Long is excited to start serving the AdventHealth Hendersonville community. Long adds, “I see you; I hear you and I want to take an exciting journey with you so that you can have the tools to help you become the best version of yourself!”

Long and her husband have three grown sons, and two cats. She and her husband enjoy spending time together traveling, hiking, reading, cooking and gardening. Long also greatly enjoys watching Masterpiece Theater on PBS!
