N.C., AdventHealth Medical Group Welcomes New Psychiatric Specialist to Meet Growing Mental Wellness Needs in Our Community

Oct. 14, 2022; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Martha Hill Moore, PhD, LCMHC to her new role with the team at AdventHealth Medical Group Psychiatry at Medical Office Building.* Dr. Moore brings her is experience of providing individualized, patient-centered care to the behavioral health and wellness programs offered at AdventHealth Hendersonville.

Dr. Moore earned her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Theater Arts from Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC. She then earned her Master of Counseling degree from the University of Phoenix in Sacramento, CA, and went on to earn her Doctor of Philosophy in General Psychology from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.

Dr. Moore is passionate about getting to know her patients and building their care around their individualized needs. “While I do tend to stick with a mindfulness based cognitive behavioral approach,” Dr. Moore explains, “I use a more person-centered way of addressing issues as they arise, building on the strengths and skills that my patients already have.”

AdventHealth’s commitment to whole-person care – mind, body, and spirit, is what made an impression on Dr. Moore. “The “whole-person” approach to the overall health of the community we serve completely aligns with my personal mission and overall philosophy of life.” She adds, “What affects our bodies affects our minds.”

Dr. Moore’s philosophy of caring extends to everything she does. “I really do care. I have no reason for being other than to serve others; to care for and about them as human beings who deserve dignity and respect.”

Dr. Moore and her husband, Larry, have been married for 42 years. They met at Mars Hill College and have two adult children, and two grandchildren. Dr. Moore loves being surrounded by nature, cooking and baking, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
