N.C., May 02, 2023 — AdventHealth Welcomes New Physician Assistant to Expand Care at its Age-Friendly Center

May 2, 2023; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Brion Dixon, PA-C to its team at AdventHealth Medical Group Multispecialty at Laurel Park*. Dixon will be serving alongside our board-certified Geriatrician, Marianna Benson, DO, to provide Age-Friendly care, specializing in services for older adults and their caregivers.

Dixon earned his bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Care with a Science Concentration from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC and went on to earn his Physician Assistant master’s degree from Wingate University. He has more than 20 years of diverse health care experience including in dermatology and full spectrum primary care services.

Dixon was impressed with the innovative, interdisciplinary model of the Age-Friendly care offered at AdventHealth Medical Group Multispecialty at Laurel Park and the Age-Friendly Center located there. The multidisciplinary team of providers includes physical therapy, pharmacy, nutrition, and dementia support groups so patients and their caregivers have access to convenient whole-person care.

Dixon focuses on building strong, trusting relationships with patients, which allows patients to feel engaged in their health care goals. “I focus on patients’ motivations and life goals, not just their numbers,” Dixon says, “I strongly believe in starting with promoting healthy lifestyle choices and focusing on relationships and strengthening communities in order to help people feel whole.”

Dixon and his wife, Robyn, have two children in middle school. In his free time, he is the head coach of the local youth mountain bike racing team, the Henderson Hellbenders. He enjoys spending time in nature with his family by biking, camping, hiking and snowboarding.
