Aug. 3, 2023; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Charles Morlok, MD to its team of hospitalists at AdventHealth Hendersonville. Dr. Morlok joins our team of board-certified physicians caring for patients who are admitted to our hospital. He brings a long-standing commitment to provide compassionate and individualized care to every patient.

Dr. Morlok earned his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Clemson University in Clemson, SC. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He most recently worked as a hospitalist at Haywood Regional Medical Center, where he was recognized as the 2019 Hospitalist Provider of the Year.

Dr. Morlok is passionate about listening to his patients and caring for them as individuals. He communicates openly with patients and families and explains the health care process in a way that is comforting and engaging. He efficiently provides high level care to each person in his care.

“My first goal with any patient is to first listen and understand who my patient is and what problems they are facing,” Dr. Morlok explains, “I do my very best to ensure patients and families feel they understand problems and diagnoses as well as the plan for moving forward. I also think it is very important to listen to the entire health care team to ensure that all members including the patients, nurses, therapists, etc, are able to provide their unique points of view and talents into the plan to provide the best care possible.”

“Dr. Morlok’s approach to care keeps the patient at the center while surrounding them with expertise and compassion to make sure the patient receives the highest-quality care in the safest environment,” shares Christy Sneller, MBA, Vice President of Physician Services for AdventHealth Hendersonville.

What drew Dr. Morlok to AdventHealth Hendersonville was their commitment to whole-person care. “I am very excited to join a non-profit hospital that is focused on providing patient centered care with a focus on the patient as a whole,” Dr. Morlok shares. “The hospital system seems very dedicated not just in treating patients, but to integrating with and serving the local community to meet the growing health care needs in Western North Carolina.

Dr. Morlok loves working in health care, but originally he thought about pursuing a degree in marine biology. He spent time in the Florida Keys and the coast of South Carolina studying octopi and blue crabs. Currently, he likes living an active, outdoor life in Western North Carolina. He enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with his family in the area.
