in AdventHealth Medical Group Wound Care.

Jun. 8, 2022; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth Hendersonville is excited to introduce you to our newest DAISY Award winner. Jessica Henderson, BSN, RN, CHRN, is part of the team at the AdventHealth Medical Group Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Medical Office Building*.

Jessica works hard to extend the Healing Ministry of Christ to her wound care patients. Her diligence in providing whole-person care, sets her apart in the minds of her patients. She offers encouragement throughout the healing process. Treating some wounds can take an extended amount of time, but Jessica helps guide her patients on their journey back to health. She gets to know them and treats them each with kindness.

George Crosby, a recent patient of Jessica’s shares, “From my very first visit, this professional nurse has given above 100% of herself to the healing of my wound.” He says, “She cares about the patient. Jessica got to know me and some of my issues that could impede the healing process. She treated me with tough love, telling me you have to take ownership in this process. My visits were dotted with conversation and laughter. She joined right in with my dry sense of humor. There were days I was down, and she cheered me up.”

George nominated her for this award. He says, “She is respected and admired by those she works with and the doctors in the unit.” And adds, “She is the essence of a Florence Nightingale at AdventHealth.”

AdventHealth Hendersonville is honored to recognize Jessica as the new DAISY Award winner.

The DAISY Award was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes in 1999 to thank the nurses who cared for Patrick and for them as he battled an autoimmune disease. Patrick lost his battle, but his family realized the impact his nurses had on the final days of his life. For that, they wanted to create an opportunity for all families who experience the benefits of the extraordinary care of nurses to show their appreciation.
