Thompson Scholars and AdventHealth Host Successful Health Equity Health Fair

The Thompson Scholars Foundation and AdventHealth are proud to announce the successful completion of the Health Equity Health Fair held today from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Excel Building in Manchester, KY. With over 250 participants, the event brought together medical professionals, community representatives, and attendees to address health disparities and promote wellness within the community.

The Health Equity Health Fair featured a wide range of activities and resources, including:

  • Youth Mental Health: Providing support and resources for young individuals facing mental health challenges.
  • Rethink Your Drink: Educating attendees on healthier beverage choices to improve overall health.
  • OB/GYN Services: Offering information and consultations on women's health.
  • Screenings: Conducting various health screenings to detect potential health issues early.
  • Endocrinologist Consultations: Providing expert advice on managing endocrine disorders.
  • Car Seat Check: Jennifer Scott and Anna Smith led car seat safety checks to ensure the safety of young passengers.
  • Vaccinations: Offering vaccines to protect against various diseases.
  • Colon Cancer Prevention: Educating attendees on the importance of colon cancer screenings and prevention.
  • General Surgery Team: Providing information on surgical procedures and consultations.
  • Hospice Care: Offering resources and support for end-of-life care.
  • Chair Yoga: Demonstrating chair yoga exercises for improved flexibility and relaxation.
  • Maternal/Child Health: Sharing information on safe sleep practices and promoting healthy, active communities.
  • Continuing Education: Providing opportunities for ongoing education and professional development.
  • Cancer Prevention: Educating attendees on preventing colon cancer and protecting against sun damage.
  • Mental Health: Offering resources and support for mental health and well-being.
  • Domestic Violence Resources: Providing information and support for individuals affected by domestic violence.
  • Behavioral Health: Offering consultations and resources for behavioral health issues.
  • Spirometer and Skin Cancer Spot Checks: Conducting lung health assessments and skin cancer screenings.
  • Health Care Resources: Providing information on available health care resources in the community.
  • Eyecare and Glasses: Offering eye exams and glasses for improved vision.
  • Community Care Coordinator: Connecting attendees with community care resources.
  • Harm Reduction: Providing information on harm reduction strategies.
  • Kynect: Offering assistance with health insurance enrollment.
  • Stop the Bleed: Demonstrating techniques to control bleeding in emergency situations.
  • Careers: Providing information on career opportunities in the health care field.
  • Food Pantry: Offering access to nutritious food for those in need.
