PALM COAST, Fla., May 29, 2018 On May 22, more than 40 people joined AdventHealth HospiceCare Foundation for the eighth annual Blessing of the Bricks event in Kelly’s Corner, the memorial butterfly garden at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House.
Since 2007, the butterfly garden at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House has been a place for patients and families to sit in fellowship and prayer, as well as honor the memories of those who have passed away.
Each year at this special event, hospice friends, family members and supporters come to honor and remember hospice patients at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, located on the campus of AdventHealth Palm Coast in Palm Coast.
Violinist Paulo Torres performed In the Garden and AdventHealth HospiceCare chaplain Earl Glanville closed the event with a prayer of dedication, in honor of those patients memorialized, and to comfort the bereaved guests.
Following the ceremony, many family members and friends found their loved ones bricks and spend time reflecting, honoring and remembering.
The support raised through these brick donations allow us to continue to improve the experience for our patients and their loved ones at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House," said John Subers, AdventHealth HospiceCare Foundation director.
The eight-bed Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House opened in 2007 in Palm Coast and is Flagler County’s only hospice in-patient unit. AdventHealth HospiceCare offers acute, respite, home health and continuous care; no other hospice in Flagler County offers all four services.
