PALM COAST, Fla., December 19, 2016 On Dec. 8, approximately 50 community members joined Florida Hospital Flagler for free knee pain seminar featuring orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Keen.

Knee pain can significantly decrease a person's quality of life, he said. The first line of treatment is conservative. If that fails, there are several surgical interventional options, including knee replacement.

Knee replacements were first performed nearly 50 years ago and are one of the most successful surgeries we do, he added. In the U.S., more than 600,000 knee replacements are performed every year. These surgeries help those who have been living in pain for years get back to the activities they love to do.
