AdventHealth will bring three new surgeons and a sports medicine physician to Flagler County in August: general surgeon Dr. Abubaker Ali, general surgeon Dr. Matthew Wideroff, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Joseph Palmer, and sports medicine physician Dr. Joseph Chen.
These physicians will join AdventHealth Medical Group, a team of nearly 400 employed AdventHealth physicians and advanced practitioners representing 30 different medical specialties. With 70 practice locations across Flagler, Lake, Sumter and Volusia counties, AdventHealth Medical Group clinicians collectively cared for more than one million patient visits in 2023.
“Our community has been growing and we know that our patients need timely access to care,” said Denyse Bales-Chubb, President and CEO of the AdventHealth Flagler and St. Johns Counties market. “With that in mind, we put a focus on bringing new physicians to the area. So far this year, we recruited eight physicians to the Flagler County community, and we aren’t done. We are actively recruiting additional physicians and advanced practice providers to make it easier for patients to access high-quality care locally.”
