DELAND, Fla., September 16, 2016 Florida Hospital DeLand has named Jason Rivera as the new director of surgical services.

In this new position, Rivera will oversee various departments, including preadmission testing, surgery, central reprocessing and several others. Additionally, he works to maintain the productivity and development of service lines in each department.

Jason has a heart for mission and people, and his leadership will be a welcomed addition to our leadership team, said Hector de Jesus, Florida Hospital DeLand chief operating officer.

Rivera has 20 years of experience with Florida Hospital, and the past 10 years have been at Florida Hospital DeLand. He has worked in nearly every area of surgical services, ranging from orderly to operating room nurse. Most recently, he served as the clinical nurse manager for the Florida Hospital DeLand Center for Digestive and Pulmonary Health.

An Orange City resident, Rivera earned his registered nursing degree from Seminole Community College and is currently working on his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of West Florida.
