PALM COAST, Fla., August 17, 2020 – Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Benjamin Lindbloom has joined AdventHealth Medical Group.
As an AdventHealth Medical Group physician, Lindbloom joins AdventHealth’s employed group of physicians with more than 300 providers, including 160 primary care doctors and specialists in Volusia, Flagler and Lake counties.
Lindbloom comes to AdventHealth from Brandon, Florida, where he completed a fellowship in orthopedic shoulder and elbow surgery at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute and served as an attending surgeon for the last two years. He also served as an assistant professor at the University of South Florida and as adjunct faculty in the College of Biomedical Engineering.
Specializing in fracture reconstruction, as well as shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty, he joins orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Dennis Alter, practicing in Flagler County for nearly 30 years, and Dr. Raymond Weiand, in addition to sports medicine physician Dr. Sonia Millan.
“We’re excited to welcome such a talented new team member to our practice,” said Alter. “Dr. Lindbloom’s skills in complex, primary and revision shoulder arthroplasty, complex shoulder arthroscopy, elbow surgery and fracture repair will benefit the Palm Coast community and others who travel here for excellent orthopedic care.”
Lindbloom was an honors graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Nebraska. He completed an internship in general surgery at Boston University Medical Center followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston - one of the most active orthopedic trauma training centers in the nation.
Lindbloom has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on orthopedic trauma surgery, tendon repair, infections and shoulder surgery. He has also given presentations on shoulder fractures and shoulder replacement surgery. He is currently a candidate member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
