At our AdventHealth Riverview imaging center, one picture can give us the answers we need to guide your care. Our imaging team uses advanced tools — X-rays, 1.5 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and two 128-channel computed tomography (CT) scans — to detect and diagnose health issues.

Diagnostic Imaging
We offer a full range of tests and scans to accurately diagnose various health conditions. Our digital imaging technology allows your provider to access your test results immediately so you can begin treatment right away.

Nuclear Medicine
A specialized area of radiology, nuclear medicine uses tiny amounts of radioactive materials given orally or intravenously. These materials transmit an image that allows your provider to look at your organ’s structure and metabolic function.

Interventional Radiology
Interventional radiology is a minimally invasive approach where radiologists or surgeons guide catheters or wires to an affected area to deliver targeted treatment.

- What to Expect at Your Upcoming Screening

It's normal to feel nervous when you need medical testing. But knowing what to expect can lower your anxiety and increase confidence.
Before your scan, we'll ask about your medical history, if you have any allergies and even if you experience claustrophobia so we can take steps to make the process less cramped.
For some tests, we may ask you to change into scrubs or a gown or remove any metal like jewelry or electronic devices. For some scans, you'll need to fast beforehand.
Some scans require you to drink a liquid called a contrast (or we may inject this intravenously) to help us get a clearer look at the inside of your body. Most imaging scans require very little recovery.
We'll be here to guide you from beginning to end. After your test, a board-certified radiologist will look at your images and send the results to your provider. If you have any concerns or questions, please ask. We're here to ease your mind.
