Facility Tours and Classes
To help you feel at home and to get to know our staff, we offer tours of our facility every Sunday at 2 pm. No appointment is required. Just meet in the lobby of the Sue Mayborn Women’s Center and a member of our labor and delivery staff will show you around while answering any questions you may have.
In addition to our tours, we have several free classes to help you prepare for the birth of your child. Topics include Childbirth, Breastfeeding, and Infant Care.
Having Your Baby
When it comes time to have your baby, our labor, delivery and recovery suites will be a welcoming environment for you and your family. Each labor room is equipped with the FetaLink™ central monitoring system - a state-of-the-art fetal monitoring and charting system. The Hugs™ infant security system provides valuable added protection for the mothers and infants in our care, and the department is locked 24/7. Epidurals are available around the clock if you choose them.
Recovery and Visitation
Following delivery, you will have a private room for quiet recuperation and for sharing precious first moments with your newborn. We observe the "Golden Hour," which allows skin-to-skin bonding with Mom for the first hour after birth, as long as there are no complications that require additional medical attention.
After that time, however, your guests are welcome to visit. We appreciate the important role of family support in the childbirth experience, and therefore allow visitors at Mom’s discretion. Please note, your baby will be required to stay in within the hospital room. - Innovation and Safety for Mother and Baby

From the moment you learned about your pregnancy, you became fiercely protective of that little life growing inside you. You'll do anything to keep your baby safe. This often leads to a lot of worrying about potential pre-birth health concerns, including the chance of a miscarriage, genetic disorder, or birth defect. Let us provide you with clear, specific answers. We start by welcoming you into an open conversation about your wellness, your family history, and other health factors. Using screenings at different moments before and during your pregnancy, we can complete the picture, and determine your risks.
But as much as you hope for smooth sailing, sometimes things don’t go as planned. If you or your baby should ever need an extra level of care, our emergency-trained physicians, maternal-fetal specialists, and transport services are on hand 24/7 to give you the resources you need. If the road gets bumpy, let our steady hand guide you and your infant to health and wellness.
