LENEXA, Kan., AdventHealth has named Sissel Jacob president and chief executive officer of AdventHealth Lenexa City Center, effective July 29, 2024. When construction on the AdventHealth Lenexa City Center campus is completed in mid-2025, it will serve as the first and only standalone, inpatient hospital in Lenexa, Kan.

Jacob has served as the president and CEO for AdventHealth Manchester in eastern Kentucky since 2022, recently overseeing the market’s expansion with a new rural health clinic in Pineville, Ky. Prior to this role, she served as vice president of operations for St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster, Colo. Her other previous roles include director of operations, corporate director of supply chain, director of environmental services and director of food and nutrition services, serving several hospitals in AdventHealth’s Rocky Mountain Region in Colorado. Additionally, Jacob holds a Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Union College.

“Sissel is a dynamic, mission-minded leader, and her strong experience in building teams positions us well for AdventHealth Lenexa City Center to serve this growing community well. As we open the doors to more exceptional health services in Lenexa and the surrounding area, we are thrilled to have Sissel lead this team to extend Christ’s healing ministry.” said Sam Huenergardt, chief executive officer of AdventHealth Mid-America Region. “Her positive leadership will make an impact on our new hospital, and this bustling community. We are very excited to welcome her to our team.”

AdventHealth Lenexa City Center will be the health system’s fourth full-service hospital in Kansas, in addition to AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, AdventHealth South Overland Park and AdventHealth Ottawa. AdventHealth Lenexa City Center will be a 25-acre mixed-use campus with a variety of medical and retail services. The first phase of development will feature the 98-bed hospital and a three-story, 56,000-square-foot medical office building and represents a $247 million investment. The full-service hospital will include an emergency department, surgical services, intensive care unit, heart care and more.

“I am looking forward to building new relationships and supporting the expansion of our mission both in Kansas City and the surrounding communities,” Jacob said. “I’m excited to be part of the growth in the Mid-America Region and to bring advanced health services locally to Lenexa City Center.”
