AdventHealth South Overland Park Unveils Expanded Birth Center to Meet Growing Community Needs

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., August 21, 2024 — AdventHealth South Overland Park is pleased to announce the completion of the expansion of its Birth Center, doubling its size to better serve the growing needs of the community. The expanded facility now features 15 modern birth suites designed to allow mothers to labor, deliver, rest, and recover in one comfortable room. This expansion also includes the addition of six experienced OB/GYNs, bringing the total to 14, two minimal intervention birth suites, and introduces highly trained lactation consultant services to support breastfeeding and lactation needs.

The expanded Birth Center will offer an array of amenities to support families throughout their birthing journey. The suites include full-size sleeper sofas for support persons, private bathrooms with showers and/or tubs, personal mini fridges, and flat screen TVs to ensure a relaxing and convenient experience.

The center also features a Level II NICU, equipped with private rooms for each baby to ensure specialized care in a supportive environment. Lactation consultants will offer hands on breastfeeding and lactation support.
