AdventHealth Lenexa City Center holds ceremonial ribbon cutting

Ribbon cutting

LENEXA, Kan., AdventHealth hosted a ceremonial ribbon cutting event today, ahead of the grand opening of the health system’s new full-service hospital at Lenexa City Center. As the first and only inpatient hospital in Lenexa, services will include surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, a 24/7 emergency room, and more. In addition to these essential services, AdventHealth Lenexa City Center offers a patient-focused approach, reflecting the system’s commitment to blending advanced medical technology with compassionate, whole-person care. The hospital will officially open for patient care beginning July 15.

“We are honored to be celebrating this significant milestone in our 63-year history of serving the health care needs of the Greater Kansas City community and our continued efforts to meet the needs of patients in the region,” said Sam Huenergardt, president and chief executive officer of AdventHealth, Mid-America Region. “This facility not only represents growth, but our team’s dedication to providing compassionate, whole-person care closer to where our patients need us.”

The campus and facilities have been thoughtfully and intentionally designed to incorporate technology, using hellocare Smart Rooms to integrate AI-powered intelligence and monitor patient needs in real time. In addition to improved signage and enhanced capabilities, patients will benefit from personalized education and discharge planning, involving family members through in-room digital experiences.

Additionally, AdventHealth Lenexa City Center is proud to offer the most advanced robotic surgery technology in Kansas City. Benefits for patients include smaller incisions, less pain and scarring, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times. This technology is used in a variety of specialties including urology, gynecology, general surgery, and more.

“It’s so exciting to be expanding patient care in the Lenexa community as we work to create a health and wellness hub that’s accessible, walkable, and deeply connected to the people around us,” said Sissel Jacob, president and chief executive officer of AdventHealth Lenexa City Center. “Our focus on technology and deep commitment to extending the healing ministry of Christ is reflected throughout the campus, and the integration of medical services with wellness-focused amenities truly sets us apart.”
