AdventHealth is one of eight organizations honored by Modern Healthcare as a 2024 Diversity Leader. The honorees were selected for demonstrating commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through board and leadership makeup and company actions over the past year.
“The organizations honored set an example, from their leadership ranks to their programming efforts, of the results that can be achieved across a workplace,” said Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. “We hope industry leaders continue to prioritize these efforts to better reflect, internally and externally, the communities they serve.”
Modern Healthcare cited AdventHealth’s leadership in the launching of more than 60 strategic plans aimed at addressing patient disparities by race, ethnicity, gender and income status, as well as offering educational assistance programs, achieving equity in compensation, and having an ongoing commitment to improving representation across leadership levels.
"We are grateful for this recognition as it amplifies AdventHealth’s belief that embracing diversity not only enriches our workplace but also elevates the quality of whole-person care we provide,” said Olesea Azevedo, chief people officer and chief administrative officer for AdventHealth. “Our proactive efforts to reflect the communities we serve underscore our ongoing commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and advancing health equity in our communities."
