Dr. Ali Tourchi is the first and only physician in Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties to perform a new minimally invasive solution for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).
This innovative approach, known as aquablation therapy, uses the power of water delivered with robotic precision and AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway is the only hospital in the area to offer the procedure.
With no incisions needed, Aquablation therapy takes less than an hour – the actual treatment lasting just five minutes – and provides relief while minimizing risks.
“Aquablation therapy is the only procedure that gives a surgeon the ability to view the entire prostate during treatment,” said urologist Dr. Ali Tourchi. “It allows the surgeon to map which parts of the prostate to remove and which parts to avoid, reducing risks of irreversible complications like erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, and incontinence.”
Dr. Tourchi told The Observer in a recent interview that a waiting list for the procedure is almost nonexistent.
“If they need the surgery, we will offer it to them right away,” he said. “We are proud to serve the county of Flagler and surrounding counties. And we are blessed to be at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway to have this robot available.”
In addition to AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway, this procedure is available at AdventHealth Celebration, Winter Garden and Kissimmee.
