AdventHealth welcomes new family nurse practitioner in Hendersonville

ASHEVILLE, N.C., — HENDERSONVILLE, NC, May 29, 2025 – AdventHealth is excited to welcome Cindy Thomas, FNP, DNP, to its team at AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Hendersonville*. Thomas is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is serving alongside Eugenio Menendez, DO, FACP, providing compassionate, family medicine care for patients in our community.

Thomas earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice with an emphasis in Family Nurse Practitioner from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

As a family medicine provider at AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Hendersonville, Thomas will be treating chronic and acute diagnosis, providing women’s health care and education, and promoting health lifestyle habits. She serves as a resource for the health and well-being of her patients and is committed to delivering exceptional care for the whole-person.

“I treat all aspects of the patient – body, mind and spirit – since they are all interconnected,” Thomas explains. “I approach the patient with respect and a non-judgment approach and use patient-centered care and shared decision-making to strengthen rapport and adherence to the regimen. I want the best for the patient and like to go to the root of the problem.”

For Thomas this means equipping each person with the information they need by explaining the reasons behind their conditions and even delving into the underlying symptoms and impact of a health issue. When patients have a clearer grasp of their health, they are better positioned to make informed decisions about their treatment options."

Thomas is a proud mother of two daughters, one who tends a homestead, and one who is actively pursuing her doctorate degree. When she is not providing whole-person care to her patients, Thomas enjoys working out, hiking, biking, paddle boarding, spending time with her family and is currently training for a half marathon.
