ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla., April 25, 2017 Today, Adventist Health System named a new regional CEO to lead what was formerly known as the Florida Hospital East Florida Region.
The recent passing of our friend and colleague, Rob Fulbright, has left a permanent void in our hearts that will never be filled. There were many plans and projects that Rob was pursuing and it is important that we honor him by prayerfully selecting an executive leader that will advance Robs vision, as well as accelerate a seamless transition, said Terry Shaw, Adventist Health System President and CEO.
Effective May 1, Adventist Health System has appointed David Ottati, current CEO for Florida Hospital Waterman, to serve in a new role as President/CEO of the Central Florida Division - North Region.
Adventist Health Systems Central Florida Division is now composed of two halves: North Region and South Region.
What was formerly the Florida Hospital East Florida Region will now be the Central Florida Division - North Region and will encompass Lake, Volusia and Flagler counties, as well as the strategic development of markets adjacent to and north of those areas. This now includes Florida Hospital DeLand in DeLand, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida Hospital Oceanside in Ormond Beach, Florida Hospital New Smyrna in New Smyrna Beach, and Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares.
The Central Florida Division - South Region will include all Orlando-area Florida Hospital facilities. Ottati will report to Daryl Tol, President/CEO of both Adventist Health Systems Central Florida Division, as well as the South Region.
David has been with our organization for more than two decades and has a rich history in this important region, Shaw said. I have strong confidence in Davids leadership abilities to drive strategy straight through to operations. That comprehensive view will be key as we look to grow our footprint in this region.
Ottati began his career with Adventist Health System in 1996 as a management resident. Since then, he has held various roles including program administrator for Florida Hospital for Children, administrator for Florida Hospital Wauchula and Florida Hospital Lake Placid.
From 2006 to 2013, Ottati served as CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler. During his tenure, he built and opened the outpatient medical plaza and oversaw the electronic clinical information system activation which designated Florida Hospital Flagler as a HIMSS Stage 7 facility the first facility in Florida to receive this certification.
As the CEO of Florida Hospital Waterman, Ottati expanded the hospitals cancer and cardiology services, improved physician engagement, and led Adventist Health Systems first successful implementation of iSynergy, an enterprise resource planning initiative that standardized processes across the human resources, finance, and supply chain services.
Not only has Ottati served on the executive level within the Central Florida Division - North Region, but he also has vast experience in the governance of several hospitals within the area. He served on the board of directors at Florida Hospital Flagler from 2006 to 2013, as well as the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center board of directors from 2007 to 2013, and the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial board of directors from 2013 to 2016. This experience has familiarized him with not only their operations, but also with many of the physicians, staff and community members in the region.
Ottati and his wife, Wendy, have four children and together enjoy outdoor sports, traveling and photography.
