AdventHealth has named Andrew Santos president/CEO of AdventHealth North Pinellas, effective Jan. 12.
In this role, Santos will lead operations and growth plans for the campus and will report to Jennifer Wandersleben, the regional CEO providing market leadership for Hardee, Highlands, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties.
“Andrew is a dedicated and compassionate servant leader who has served AdventHealth for well over a decade,” said Wandersleben. “It has been a joy to see him grow over the years, and I’m confident he will lead AdventHealth North Pinellas to new heights as the top hospital in Pinellas County for whole-person care.”
Santos most recently served as vice president and chief operating officer for AdventHealth’s Heartland Region, where he provided operational oversight for the three hospitals (AdventHealth Sebring, AdventHealth Lake Placid and AdventHealth Wauchula).
While in this role, he increased market share in key service lines and enhanced operational efficiencies and outcomes.
Santos also served as the administrator for AdventHealth Lake Placid, fostering a collaborative culture, improving employee engagement and achieving a Top Teaching Hospital designation from The Leapfrog Group.
Under his leadership, the cardiology program earned the Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Coronary Intervention Award, and the Cancer Institute attained the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award.
Since 2012, Santos has served in various leadership roles within AdventHealth’s West Florida, Central Florida and Multi-State divisions, providing him with a well-rounded perspective of the company.
“I’m honored and humbled to be called to serve AdventHealth’s facility in Pinellas County,” he said. “I look forward to collaborating with the great physicians, leaders and team members at AdventHealth North Pinellas who already provide whole-person care to the beautiful, close-knit Tarpon Springs community.”
Santos holds a Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a bachelor’s in business administration from Walla Walla University. He is also a 2021 graduate of AdventHealth’s Executive Leadership Program.
As an active member of his community, Santos serves on the boards of the Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce and the South Florida State College Foundation.
