PALM COAST, Fla. – Board-certified gastroenterologist Dr. Ahmad Samer Alawad joined AdventHealth Medical Group and cares for patients at AdventHealth Palm Coast and AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway.
Previously caring for patients at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, Alawad is now part of AdventHealth Medical Group’s team of over 400 health care providers, including 250 primary care physicians and specialists in Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties.
Alawad brings a wealth of experience and specializes in treating a wide range of conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett’s esophagus, screening colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel diseases, irritable bowel disorders, chronic liver diseases, biliary/pancreatic disorders, and viral hepatitis.
After earning a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Aleppo, Alawad completed internal medicine training and chief residency at Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center. He completed a clinical hepatology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. He also completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Saint Louis University.
