As a student at Deltona High School, Brandon Shadeed first walked the halls of AdventHealth Fish Memorial, shadowing nurses and techs through the Volusia County Schools’ Health Academy program. That early glimpse into patient care sparked a passion that’s guided his career ever since.
Today, Shadeed is an assistant nurse manager on the same unit where he began at AdventHealth Fish Memorial in 2018.
He leads with heart, humility, and a deep passion for people. Inspired by his mom’s journey from certified nursing assistant to nurse practitioner, Shadeed forged his own path in caregiving and found a workplace that believed in his potential.
“It has been amazing to grow my career in the same place where it all started,” Shadeed said. “I’ve had the chance to learn from incredible mentors, build strong relationships with my team, and take on new challenges. Every day I walk through these doors, I remember why I started – and why I’ve stayed. I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.”
At every stage of his career, AdventHealth supported Shadeed with tuition reimbursement, leaders who encouraged him to grow, and teammates who created a culture that felt like family.
That culture drives Shadeed to go above and beyond, both as a leader and as a caregiver. His team knows him for his calm energy, big heart, and personal mantra – one that he wears on his badge: I care for you like my mom.
“Brandon is the kind of nurse and leader who lifts everyone around him,” said Michele Johnson, chief nursing officer at AdventHealth Fish Memorial and fellow Deltona High School graduate. “He leads with heart and inspires his team through both words and actions. His journey reflects exactly what we strive for at AdventHealth: helping people grow to their full potential while delivering exceptional care.”
